Don’t Drink and Drive initiative in Germany: Raising awareness among young drivers

The “DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE” (DDAD) initiative is once again making an impact on road safety, with a strong focus this year on reaching schools and vocational institutions. The campaign aims to sensitize novice drivers to the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving, helping them understand how even small amounts of alcohol can impair their ability to stay safe behind the wheel.

One of the highlights of the campaign is a driving simulator, which allows young people to experience first-hand how alcohol consumption affects their perception, reflexes, and decision-making. This powerful tool has proven to be an eye-opening experience for participants and an effective way to encourage more responsible choices.

The initiative is supported by the DWA (Deutsche Weinakademie), a longstanding member of Wine in Moderation. DWA’s commitment and impressive track record in promoting moderation and responsible consumption continue to play a vital role in raising awareness and advancing the shared mission of reducing alcohol-related harm.
