Italian Wine in Moderation members to celebrate WiM Day 2025 with a focus on responsible service
Several members of Wine in Moderation in Italy will come together to mark WiM Day 2025 with a special event on Thursday, 6 November 2025, dedicated to Responsible Service training, a key initiative aimed at encouraging safe, moderate, and informed wine consumption.
The day will begin with a press conference at 11:00 AM local time, marking the official launch of the Digital Responsible Service training in the country. The opening statement will be delivered by Sandro Sartor, President of Wine in Moderation, in the presence of the three Italian WiM national coordinators, Consorzio Prosecco DOC, Federvini and Unione Italiana Vini:
Following the press conference, there will be a talk on education as a means to foster dialogue, featuring representatives from both Movimento Turismo del Vino and Ruffino, an Ambassador company of Wine in Moderation.
The day will conclude with discussions involving associations of sommeliers and HORECA operators, who will share their experiences and perspectives on responsible service.
The Responsible Service training aims to equip hospitality professionals, sommeliers, and wine staff with practical knowledge and tools to serve wine responsibly, understand the social and health aspects of alcohol consumption, and foster a positive wine culture. This event underscores the importance of education and collaboration in promoting responsible wine consumption and strengthening the culture of moderation across Italy and beyond.
