Wine in Moderation celebrates 2025 achievements at annual New Year reception
PRESS RELEASE - Brussels, 22/01/2026 – Wine in Moderation hosted its annual New Year Reception on 21 January, bringing together over 50 stakeholders from across the wine sector, including producers, hospitality professionals, EU officials, and national representatives. The event celebrated the programme’s accomplishments in 2025 and looked ahead to its 2025–2030 strategic plan.
In his address, President Sandro Sartor highlighted the programme’s growth and impact over the past year. “Looking back on 2025, our community continued to grow, innovate, and inspire,” Sartor said. “From expanding our global network and welcoming new partners, to launching educational tools and engaging at Europe’s leading trade fairs, these achievements demonstrate the strength of our shared mission: promoting a sustainable wine culture built on responsibility, moderation, and enjoyment.”
The 2025 highlights included:
- Expansion of the global network, with Caviro joining as Ambassador Company and the launch of Wine in Moderation in Ukraine.
- Strengthened partnerships across the value chain, including collaborations with Harv 81 Group, Enologica Vason S.P.A., and Jeunes Restaurateurs (JRE), connecting production, hospitality, and gastronomy.
- Education initiatives, such as the launch of the Digital Responsible Service Training and the third edition of the Responsible Service Train-the-Trainer session.
- Campaigns turning messages into action, with initiatives across Portugal, Spain, Germany, and international markets, highlighting moderate drinking, the importance to stay hydrated, and moderation.
- Wine in Moderation Day 2025, celebrated globally on 8 November, with seminars, workshops, and campaigns reaching professionals, students, and the general public.
“The success of Wine in Moderation depends on the dedication of our Partners, Ambassador Companies, and National Coordinators,” Sartor added. “Together, we are building a sustainable culture of wine.”
