Wine in Moderation was once again present at ProWein this year, where the Secretariat took the opportunity to reconnect with its members and partners, while also engaging with wineries, national wine associations, and other stakeholders participating at the fair. Through these meetings, the Secretariat gained valuable insights into current challenges and needs, while also exchanging on how to further collaborate and support the integration of moderation and responsible consumption into both social sustainability strategies and everyday professional practices.

During the fair, the association also hosted a press session where Secretary General Nadia Frittella presented the recently launched Online Responsible Service Training. This comprehensive programme equips wine professionals with the practical skills and knowledge needed to present, serve, and sell wine responsibly, supporting a consistent culture of moderation across the sector.

In parallel, the German Wine Academy (DWA), National Coordinator of Wine in Moderation in Germany, organised a seminar on alcohol advertising regulations, during which Katja Heintschel von Heinegg, Managing Director of the German Advertising Council, shared valuable insights into the legal framework for alcohol advertising, as well as good practices for responsible communication. With increasing scrutiny, particularly on social media, understanding and complying with these rules is essential to ensure responsible promotion and help safeguard the sector from further restrictions.

A big thank you to the organisers of ProWein for supporting our mission and for providing a platform to engage with the wine sector. By placing care for consumers at the centre of our actions, we can work together towards a more sustainable future for the sector.
