The 16th Pharmacy Students’ Congress of the University of Valencia provided a valuable opportunity to introduce future health professionals to wine culture from a perspective grounded in moderation and scientific evidence.

Throughout the event, participants explored what science says about wine as part of a balanced lifestyle, with a strong focus on the importance of moderate consumption. Discussions also addressed a key aspect of healthcare education: the need to provide accurate and comprehensive information about alcohol, highlighting both the role of moderation and the risks linked to misuse.

Complementing the educational sessions, the congress also offered a more experiential approach to understanding wine and its cultural context. In collaboration with the Regulatory Councils of the Utiel-Requena and Valencia Designations of Origin, two wine tastings were organised, allowing participants to discover the characteristics, origins, and winemaking traditions of these regions.

Overall, the initiative reinforces the mission of FIVIN and OIVE to promote knowledge and responsibility by providing clear, science-based information on moderate wine consumption, contributing to the education of future health professionals.
