FIVIN calls for greater education to support informed and responsible choices

Dr Josep Masip, Chair of the Scientific Committee of FIVIN, took part in the 2nd La Cierna Congress, held in Aranda de Duero and organised by the CIFP San Gabriel School of Oenology under the theme “Harvesting Tomorrow”.

During his presentation, entitled “Wine, Heart and Life”, Dr Masip highlighted the importance of providing younger generations with accurate, evidence-based information to help them develop a better understanding of alcohol consumption and its place within a balanced lifestyle. He stressed that education plays a key role in empowering individuals to make informed and responsible choices, and in fostering a culture of moderation.

The congress brought together professionals, educators, researchers, communicators and other stakeholders to discuss current challenges and opportunities related to agriculture, health, innovation, sustainability and consumer communication. The event also underscored the value of education and science-based dialogue in promoting greater awareness of responsible drinking patterns and supporting informed decision-making among consumers.
