Wine in Moderation at the Ibero-American Wine Business Forum
The first Ibero-American Wine Business Forum was held in the city of Jerez (2014 European Wine City) where the successful adhesion of Jerez de la Frontera and the "Ruta del Vino y Brandy de Jerez » to WIM was celebrated.
This Forum which gathered among others the Spanish Minister of Agriculture, EU officials and important personalities of the European and South American wine sector was the perfect opportunity for José Ramón Fernandez, General Secretary of Comité Européen des Entreprises Vins (CEEV), to present the WIM programme and the success story of WIM implementation efforts in Spain, Portugal and in Argentina to the whole assembly showing the way for other countries of South America to join WIM.
Mr. Fernandez further stated that «With the expansion of WIM among Ibero-American countries, beyond European borders, this programme becomes a global benchmark of the commitment of the Wine sector with the culture of moderate and responsible consumption. Delivering this commitment is really a strategic priority to ensure the sustainable development of the wine sector globally».
